Education and faith exploration are integral to EWCC.

We offer an outstanding Sunday School program for children, ages four and up. Our teachers use a Bible based curriculum written in conjunction with the church year.  These dedicated volunteers use music, crafts, and drama to explore and teach Bible stories.  Currently, we have approximately sixty children enrolled in our program. You don’t have to be a member of our church to have your children visit our classes. You are welcome anytime during the year.  The Sunday School program is offered from September to June.

In addition to Sunday School classes, we offer many  activities for families to participate in together throughout the year such as a Halloween Party, Christmas Pageant followed by a pot luck supper, and Children’s Day. We also have the children work on community outreach projects like making and delivering gift baskets to shut-ins and going Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF.

Childcare is provided for children three and under.

A year-long confirmation education program is offered to those in the 8th grade or older.  This is an opportunity for teenagers to examine their faith with in-depth study, hands-on experiences, and retreats.

High School Youth Group.  Open to all 9th-12th graders.  This is a wonderful opportunity for teenagers to come together for spiritual growth, community service, faith exploration, and fellowship.  Our church works together with the First Congregational Church of Woodstock to form one youth group for our teenagers.  For weekly updates on Youth Group (SYG) log on to www.hillchurch.org, click on the blue "YOUTH" tab on the left and open "Youth News" at the bottom of the page.

Junior Youth Group.  Open to all 5th - 8th graders, the Junior Youth group meets once a month, focusing on a chance for fellowship and having fun together.  Their outings and events help to keep the middle school children interested in attending church before they join the confirmation program.

Adults are invited to weekly Bible Study on Wednesday, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.  Each week we explore the Scriptures that will be heard on the following Sunday during worship.  Using music, paintings, arts, crafts, and our own imaginations and questions, we explore and learn from God’s Word.

Second Hour programs are held occasionally after worship on a variety of topics.   All are welcome to have a cup of coffee as we learn something new.

Our Director of Christian Education is Anne Sorensen.  Her email address is ARSzoo@aol.com.  Anne has been a member of our church since 1998.  She has been active in our Christian Education program as a teacher and Christian Education Committee member since joining the church.  Anne took on the role of Director of Christian Education in 2003.
